Plans and limits reference
Compare Doxbrix plan prices, seats, AI meters, credit costs, add-ons and the features each plan unlocks.
Use this reference to compare what each Doxbrix plan includes, what AI features cost in credits, and which features are gated by plan. It helps workspace owners pick a plan and helps anyone understand why an action returned a plan-limit message.
Every limit on this page applies to the whole workspace (the organization account that holds members, billing and projects), not to one project, unless a row says otherwise.
Plans at a glance
Doxbrix offers four public plans. Paid plans can be billed monthly or yearly; the yearly price equals ten months of the monthly price.

Free trial
A new workspace that picks a paid plan during onboarding starts a 14-day free trial. Your card is collected up front, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel at no cost before then. For the sign-up steps, see Create an account and choose a plan.

- Editor seats count active members with the Owner, Admin or Editor role. Viewers do not use an editor seat. See Roles and permissions.
- Private reader seats count viewers who can read a private project. Public sites have no reader limit. See Make a site private.
- Projects are documentation sites. Every plan includes one project; buy the extra project add-on to create more.
- Custom domains are counted across all projects in the workspace. Domains that you are editing on the current project are measured against the total after you save.
- Page version history is how long earlier page versions are retained. See Preview pages and view version history.
AI allowances
Doxbrix meters AI use in three separate allowances. Each resets monthly.

- AI tokens pay for interactive authoring AI, such as inline AI and the AI Writer. Tokens are normalized: one token is roughly one input token of the baseline model, output tokens count double, and more capable models count at a higher weight.
- AI answers count replies from reader-facing assistants, including Ask AI, the embedded assistant and support triage.
- AI credits pay for batch AI jobs. The next section lists what each job costs.
- Reader AI index limits how many served pages Ask AI can search and answer from. It never limits importing, publishing or serving pages: on Free, a site with more than 100 pages stays fully browsable, and only the first 100 pages are indexed for AI answers.

For example, a Docs Health full AI review of a 120-page site costs 120 credits. On Starter, that leaves 380 of the 500 monthly credits for other jobs. See Docs Health and Capture app screenshots automatically.

- Site layouts: the Docs layout is available on every plan. The Help center and Agent layouts need Starter or higher. See Brand your site and choose a layout.
- Git sync connects a project to a repository for two-way docs-as-code. See Sync a project with a Git repository.
- AI image understanding describes and indexes images so Ask AI can answer from them.
- Helpdesk integrations connect reader support to an external helpdesk. See Offer reader support and connect a helpdesk.
- Connected docs builds are builds of an existing docs-as-code site that Doxbrix hosts. The pool is shared across the workspace. Auto-deploy itself is available on every plan. See Host an existing docs site.
- Team SSO is configured under Single sign-on.
- Docs gaps clusters unanswered reader questions into drafts. See Docs gaps.
Add-ons
Add-ons are recurring monthly purchases that raise a plan limit. They are available on Starter, Pro and Business.

For example, a Pro workspace with two extra project add-ons has 3 projects and 120 connected docs builds per month.
AI packs
AI packs are one-time top-ups for the AI meters. Every plan, including Free, can buy them.

Plan changes
- Upgrades apply immediately.
- Downgrades are checked against your current usage and scheduled for the end of the billing period. The Billing & plans page shows the scheduled change, and Keep current plan cancels it.
- Switching between monthly and yearly billing on the same plan uses the Switch to yearly or Switch to monthly button.
- Cancelling a subscription is the same as a downgrade to Free.
If your usage exceeds the target plan's limits, the downgrade is refused until you reduce it, for example by removing editor seats or custom domains.
Limit messages
When an action would exceed a limit, Doxbrix blocks it and shows one of these messages.
